- Ah, the memories this brings back. I was at Reed in 1979, and bromo was
- plentiful and popular at Reed at that time. The descriptions of its
- effects that I've read on this board are, I would say, rather accurate.
- The effects are different, and more dramatic, than LSD.
-
- At the time, it was usually sold in single dosages in clear gel capsules.
- I didn't snort it (I didn't care for the pain), but found the effects to
- be most effective when eating it as well. I ate 3 capsules one night
- when I was bored, and had the most earth-shattering experience of my
- life. Hallucinations were so intense that I could not recognize people and
- could not understand what they were saying. I saw spinning pinwheels made
- of knife blades reflecting all the colors of the rainbow on the walls. I
- thought I was shivering from cold at one point, and remarked as much to
- a friend of mine (this before I was hallucinating so heavily that I couldn't
- recognize or uderstand people). He told me I wasn't shivering at all; I
- realized he was right, and the sensation that I was shivering suddenly
- changed to a sensation that I had powerful electrical energies pulsing
- through my body.
-
- I had many more bizarre experiences that night (including a mild panic
- when I thought I was moving backward in time), but I don't want to drone
- on here. Suffice it to say that the drug is real, and the descriptions
- of its effects on this board are not exaggerations.

-
- Their report surprises me somewhat. Definitely atypical, although it
- does seem to be the case that people's response to 2C-B varies
- markedly. Most people find it to be very good, over a range of
- dosage levels.
-
- >Anyone care to relate personal experiences, or point me in the direction

-
- Here is an anonymous discussion of the effects of 2C-B:
-
- -------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- For me, 2C-B seems to be in a different league from all other drugs.
- No other experience has come close to that of 2C-B. Superficially,
- it seems to lie somewhere between MDMA and psilocybin, i.e. it is
- both entactogenic (in a way I find more wholesome and satisfying
- than MDMA or MDE) and psychedelic. Unlike psilocybin, it leaves
- the ego much more intact - the mind remains clear and comfortable
- throughout. Unlike MDMA it is unlikely to cause inappropriate
- emotional bonding between people - only to encourage appropriate
- bonding.
-
- My first experience with 2C-B was with four doses, each of about
- 20-25mg of the hydrochloride, spaced by 40 minute intervals. The
- experiment was conducted in private with one other person.
- Because of the spaced doses, the onset was gradual and gentle.
- I was slowly lifted out of my ordinary life, and taken to a
- state of pure heaven. Laurie Andersen once said "Paradise is
- like where you are right now, only much much better" and this
- about sums it up. Everything around me was somehow transformed
- into absolute perfection. There were mild visual distortions
- which were tasteful decorations but in no way got in the way.
- All sensation became the most pleasurable possible - food,
- touch, sound, sight, sex were all simply perfect, but none
- of this was at all overwhelming. Throughout I remained totally
- calm, rational, and in control, just feeling better than I
- have ever felt before. There was a sense of "this is the best -
- I have finally arrived - I am complete and need never look
- further than this." 2CB is heaven, but it is also mundane -
- there are no fireworks, no fake euphoria - the change is
- so subtle you could almost forget it is there. We weren't
- moved to do anything differently - just to exist in this in
- this beautiful state and behave normally.
-
- With one foot in heaven and one foot on earth, just after the
- peak, I found myself in a state of introspection. I felt so
- indescribably emotionally beautiful that it brought me to
- tears. Then, all the cares and worries of recent weeks came
- flooding at me, but not at an unbearable rate. It was as if
- the 2C-B were saying "I have given you 2 hours of perfect
- bliss, but you are about to return to your normal life. Here
- are some issues which are bothering you, and now is the
- perfect time to do something about them". The self-analysis
- was honest and useful - not distorted and certainly not
- superficial - and it was compelling and motivating.
-
- The comedown was slow and gentle. There was no sense of loss,
- no desire to regain the state immediately (or at all!); on
- the contrary, the subtle return to normality was welcome.
- Every state between heaven and earth felt just right.
-
- If it is impossible to adequately describe any drug induced
- state in words, this is doubly true with 2C-B. For me, the
- 2C-B experience is unparalleled, so I would recommend that
- people try it. Some do not seem to enjoy it, some do not seem
- to understand it, but many do.
-
- A few final notes: My experiences suggest that there is nothing
- that can be added to the 2C-B experience - nothing can make
- it better than it is, and so all other drugs should be avoided
- contemporaneously. Also, insufflation seems to increase the
- potency 2-3 times, as well as somewhat shortening the duration.
- The onset is rapid (half to three minutes) and somewhat disorienting,
- and can approach the feel and intensity of smoked DMT, particularly
- in a visual sense. The burning pain associated with snorting 2C-B
- can detract from the experience initially.

- 2cb unfortunately is now scheduled. I had the opportunity to
- experience it about a year ago before scheduling and I'll tell you a bit
- about it.
- A friend of mine and I weighed out 25mg each and proceeded to
- ingest it via insufflation. Needless to say, it was the most painful
- annoying long lasting burn I have ever felt. It burned my sinuses and all
- the way down the back of my throat as I got the "drips". My face felt like
- it was going to fall off. Combine this with virtually instant
- disorientation and nausea, you get two guys that are scared shitless. I've
- done my share of excessive hallucinogen doses. But this didn't even come
- close to comparing to any of them. It felt like we jumped out of a
- building and were free falling faster and faster into a psychedelic world
- which didn't seem all that great in lieu of the aforementioned symptoms. I
- was actually pretty sure we had od'd and contemplated calling 911.
- Unfortunately, I couldn't even make it to the phone if I tried. We had a
- sober friend watch us and make sure we were physically ok. As the trip
- picked up speed and intensity, shit got really strange. On most
- hallucinogens, you can make things move if you stare at em for a bit, but
- in this world, EVERYTHING is moving and doesn't stop. Which made me start
- to feel motion sickness. I saw 4 foot fluroescent spheres float by with
- intricate fractal patterns on them. Our 'guide' wasn't all that bright and
- was flipping tv channels and stopped on True Stories of The Highway
- Patrol. Not a good thing to watch in this state of mind. We then proceeded
- to wheel of fortune where I can swear the people were in the middle of the
- living room and letters were flying by us. The experience was like going
- from sober to 1000mcg in about 5 minutes. It was actually pretty scary
- because we both thought we'd finally done it and were gonna die. But we
- were too tweaked to express it. About an hour into it, we realized we were
- going to live and the nausea and burning had for the most part subsided,
- save the fact that my nose and sinuses were swollen for about 2 days.
- After about an hour, it gets kind of like an intense LSD trip.. the
- coolest thing is there is really no analytical game playing as with LSD
- and you can pretty much discuss what's going on with a good deal of
- coherence. The effects dropped off pretty rapidly and by the 4 hour mark
- we felt almost totally sober.
- I've done 2cb via capsule and have never had it affect me that way
- at even 2 and 3 times the dose. It's something I'll never do again because
- of A. the pain and B. the intensity. It was too much too fast. I might eat
- it again though if it ever becomes unscheduled ;). I did notice something
- interesting though. At sea level, a 20 mg dose is pretty mellow... kinda
- like LSD but feels more like Mescaline. Yet, we also did it at a
- campground in the mountains 6000 feet up. It took under 20 minutes to hit
- orally while at sea level it was over an hour. Mind you both times this
- was done with a full stomach with exactly the same type of food. I thought
- it curious that it was so much more intense at altitude than sea level and
- know it wasn't just a fluke situational thing.. any ideas?
-
- Have fun.. good luck and be careful. If you're gonna snort it, be prepared
- for lots of pain and a 50% chance of hurling. Also, don't do what a guy we
- know did and call 911 because he thought he was gonna wig out. He got
- transported to the hospital and by the time he got there about an hour had
- gone by and it was tolerable. Needless to say, he felt like an idiot.
- Moral: No matter where you are, hold tight, about an hour into it.. you'll
- mellow way out.
-
- It's also kinda hard on the body too.. really tweaky. Nice thing about it
- is, that when it's over, it's over. No lingering head buzzing and loops
- like the end of an LSD trip where you're no longer hallucinating but are
- still unable to sleep. This stuff has a really sharp peak and drop off.
-
- Peace.

-
- All around him is dark yet he can sense the many people he shares
- the space with. His hands raise above his head and the laser pops
- flash as he presses the buttons with his complaining, over-worked fingers.
- Someone must be getting his signal, here or in another land, another
- dimension, a place where even now the sun is shining and the air
- is warm... He has gathered together with like-minded folk to
- worship shared gods. They are gathered close to the front of a
- large hall in the lee of a great dias, monolithic towers looming
- on either side. A movement on the raised platform draws his attention
- as he again ignores the sweat running over his body from his manik
- exertions during the previous bout of music. His vision blurs from
- the 2CB he has consumed in epic quantities, his gestalt grows to
- surround those around him as the E he has also recently taken
- makes contact with the ids of other partakers of the blessed E. A
- lithe figure beside him returns his grin - who could she be???...
-
- The movement becomes figures as two gurus approach their respective
- altars, priests ready to sacrifice to the great god of techno - arcane idols
- are placed around the altars, a chicken and some sheep. A beanie
- wearing head appears over the edge of the altar on the left and its
- hands are raised - to the right, another figure seems to be doing
- the same. Discs of some bizzare plastic substance are placed on the
- altar and the priests of Techno begin their ritual - music swirls and
- sounds emerge. The crowd screams and the trance begins as more and more
- people join the rapidly increasing numbers of space cadets, launching
- to a higher orbit. Lights flash and the music lifts, carries, drags
- the listener into greater and greater stages of bliss. Forgotten
- words are exchanged with those around him as auras of pure joy increase
- around his being. The crowd sways and people moan, screaming out in joy
- as familiar riffs and samples boom out from the massive towers around
- the altars. He is joining in, his laser pops flashing and waving,
- disappearing into his mouth as he sucks greedily on the watermelon
- candy, its light illuminating his cheeks. Above him, the priests are
- engrossed in their rituals as discs are spun and exchanged...
-
- Suddenly a crackle and the sound distorts somewhat, never becoming the
- same again as the assistants to the priests become over-zealous in
- their attempts to overwhelm & entrance the adoring crowd below...
-
- Looking at the lights, his head back, and the 2CB cuts in again, his
- mind stepping even further out of his body, only to be bought back
- lovingly by the music to find his body swaying and feet moving to the
- groove... Again and again he soars to higher orbits as he shares the
- adventure with those around him. The music peaks and his body goes
- with it, his mind engrossed in the images and sensations surrounding
- him... Lights flare around him and he is bathed in their glow, bizzare
- images that do not seem real leaping into view, burned forever into
- his retinas... Higher and higher he soars in his capsule, sharing
- grins with those around him, all engrossed in the vibes the priests
- are producing from their altars...
-
- Suddenly, it is over. It has lasted for ever but was over in seconds.
- He wonders why it can't go on - thunderous roars as the priests step
- back from their altars, their tasks done, as another soul steps
- forward to take their place. The crowd dies down, many turn to leave,
- and as the music starts up again, he begins to dance harder than
- before the show, harder than he ever has before, as the incredible
- energy he has stored up during his worship is released through his
- feet and hands. The crowd parts, many join the dancing, but some
- begin to leave. Eventually the music changes and the vibe has broken,
- never to really return, it is gone, lost, but it will return on
- another night...
-
- He grabs a drink of water and washes his parched throat, standing on the
- side of the crowd watching, wishing he had the energy to get into the
- hardcore. Eventually it returns and after time spent mumbling with
- friends off the floor ( a floor where the vibe has turned ugly and the crowd
- is pushing, hogging their space and hating those around them ), he rejoins a
- somewhat emptier, happier floor and begins dancing to the beat once again,
- not as ecstatic as before, but the energy is there to use...
-
- He finds himself standing, the residuals of the 2CB washing over him.
- It makes him want to hug and cuddle but there is no-one there he feels
- comfortable with, his friends are scattered and the others in the
- crowd are strangers, he has no desire to make a fool of himself or
- screw up someone else's night, so he keeps his desires to himself,
- pulls inwards and watches, feeling a little sorry for himself...
-
- Suddenly, a friend is before him waving wildly "Come on, you Ozzie
- bastard!" and he is dragged back into the centre of the floor, pointed in
- the direction of the dias. SHOCK! One of the altars has been removed
- and a new guru stands at the remaining slab, spinning music he can
- move to. He grins at his friend as the smoke rolls over them and
- the lights flash around. His laserpops shine beams of light through
- the cloud and he begins to move his hands madly around him, sending
- shafts of color out through the mist. Happiness returns thanks
- to the music and his friend, he dances on until the music stops,
- the plug is pulled and the crowd is cheering the guru, sharing his
- anger at the rude method used to end his act...
-
- Eyes blinking wearily, it is 6:15am and he is one of the last to
- leave. His friends are nowhere in sight and the queue for the after-
- hours stretches before him across the street. He can remember all he has
- seen, heard and felt, almost every minute of the 7 hours can be recalled, but
- it all seems so short, why can't it go on forever? The vibe is gone and
- he has things to do later today, he starts walking down Broadway and by 7:30,
- he has arrived at the World Trade Center where his friend's appartment
- awaits....

- Yes I have tried BromoMescaline. If it exists then it is just mescaline with
- a bromine somewhere on the ring. But there is a general argument over
- whether it is just another name for 2CB. I personally think that the two are
- not the same since when I tried what should have been an active dose of
- 2CB orally and had no noticable affects however, when I tried the same dose
- but snorted it. It was definately active. It is immensely painful to snort
- but the visuals are most impressive. :)
-
- The pictures on the wall became 3-D and the air looked like fog. In contrast
- my mind was completely clear. The only time I have ever had visuals like this
- I was on something upwards of twenty hits of good acid. The difference was
- that on acid I couldn't think while the visuals were that intense whereas
- on bromo I could actually do o-chem. I have done it twice. Once at 20mg and
- once at 40mg. The pain of snorting 40mg didn't justify the increased visuals

- I seem finally to have gleamed the secret of 2CB. I am happy! I

- reading my etext version of the glorious tale by H.H. Kane
- called 'A Hashish-House In New York'. The room was darkened, and
- as usual rhymth came naturally. As I read on, through the
- hashish entry in 'Johnston's Chemistry of Common Life', the
- nature of the drug suddenly dawned upon me. As thee might have
- guessed, I am still under the influence of the slightest 2CB
- tinge. With music and happy thoughts, a darkened ambience and
- some nice company perchance, 2CB easily places one within the
- respite one seeks. But that's as far as it goes. No visions are
- imminent, save, perchance, after prolonged usage. The mind
- naturally wanders to heavens oriental. 2CB seems to act as an
- expectorant, and the lingual sensations are transformed into
- flavours of hashish, plants and things oriental. The fifth
- circuit is activated, and one is given free to float on waters
- serene. It requires practise. As was written of hashish in
- 'Johnston's Chemistry of Common Life', "it requires, indeed, a
- long and gradual training to its use before its boasted effects
- can be fully experienced, and this fortunately is not attempted
- yet in Europe. While in Jerusalem, M. de Sauley, with the view
- of passing pleasantly a tedious evening, indulged himself in a
- dose of haschisch, which, upon his uninitiated constitution,
- produced only unpleasant results." I am given to the supposition
- that I was of this exact nature. I was the "uninitiated

- It is an enterprise requiring practise. And thus, gentlemen, I

- I am finding that 2C-B is generally quite "shallow" as far as psychedelics
- go. At doses under 30mg it's great fun, and cool for dancing, listening
- to music, etc. It can sometimes get a bit daunting, when you start to feel
- really fucked. I don't know about doses above 30mg.
-
- I have also noticed that it's a really weird drug, in that it behaves
- almost totally differently depending on what you are doing. If you sit
- around, you start to feel *really* relaxed, placid, and almost like you
- want to fall asleep. You feel like you are floating in the clouds, and
- the last thing you want to do is get up. Then, if you do get up and do

- are left with an amazingly clear and sharp psychedelic awareness.
- You start to slip into the clouds again if you relax or stop moving

-
- I do find though that I generally don't think much on 2C-B, and there are
- few psychedelic type life-changing revalations. Most of the time I don't
- think at all, and my only thoughts are really just emotions, like primal
- feelings. You "feel", instead of think, IMHO. There are also no recursive

-
- The "nexus" that is available here comes in two forms: small yellow
- capsules, and small red/purple pills. I have only tried the yellow
- capsules, and believe them to be 2C-B. The effects *are* subtler than
- LSD (my main point of comparison), IMHO, but are still very noticable.
- One thing about 2C-B is that it is very dosage dependent, and can vary
- >from very subtle to mindblowing. The yellow capsules are supposed to
- contain 10mg each, although I suspect less.
-
- On one capsule, the effects are quite subtle, as one would expect
- >from 10mg of 2C-B. Slight rosy tinge to things, feelings of warmth,
- empathy and sexual attraction. Vague psychedelic look and feel to things,
- particularly music.
-
- On two capsules, things get more hectic, and vary between a fairly
- wasted and very laid back feeling at first and when you sit down,
- and a sharp, clear, psychedelic feeling when you do things. The degree
- of sharpness seems proportional to the extent to which you are active,
- and the change from cloudy to sharp can be so sudden and dramatic that
- you feel as if you are on a different drug.
-
- On two capsules, you also get psychedelic type hallucinations,
- such as patterns on things, distortions of time, and very intense
- colours. But these hallucinations are not generally as intense or as
- obvious as those of LSD, which is why I would say that Nexus is more
- subtle at these doses. Occasionally when dancing I have been totally
- immersed in hallucinations as happens with LSD, but not very often.
- Dancing generally feels good, and you groove on things in the same way
- as on LSD.
-
- I would say the most noticable difference between LSD and Nexus is
- that LSD tends to "twist" things, so that perfectly ordinary things
- can seem very scary. Nexus seems to enhance things, but without adding
- its own paranoid edge. Rather there is generally a feeling of well-being
- and of empathy with other people. In that way Nexus has been likened to
- MDMA, but it's different in that you don't feel unnaturally happy all
- the time, and you don't love people regardless of their characteristics.
-
- Another thing which is different from LSD is that feelings of sexual
- attraction seem to be enhanced, more than on LSD. You start to see the
- attractive qualities in people who you would normally not be attracted
- to, and people who you would normally be attracted to - hooboy! This
- all seems to be part of the primal, social, empathic qualities of
- Nexus.
-
- On three capsules, I felt very wasted for much of the time, to the
- extent that I felt uncomfortable. My eyes kept closing, and I had
- trouble concentrating on things. The urge to lie down was very strong.
- This feeling passed when I started to mission around and dance, and
- I think that if I had not been sitting around, I would have had a very
- different and probably very cool time.
